Wicked Grace - The Fall

My wonderful friend Rita came up with amazing idea of a birthday gift for Greg Ellis. She decided to create full set of Wicked Grace game cards (card game from Dragon Age as you probably all know) and invited me to take a part in this project, along with other amazing artists. My job was to design set of Angels that included ten cards. 

This is the first of the Angels: The Fall

Most of the pictures in the project are related directly to Dragon Age, but I wasn't always following that rule sometimes just letting my instinct guide my hand. The Fall is the first card I painted for the project and at first I was terrified that I won't be up to the challenge, that I won't make it in time (ten cards and all those New Years deal commissions!) and that I won't be able to copy/maintain DAI cards style. And then that card happened - nothing dragon-age-ish in it. Somehow it broke invisible barrier in my head. I didn't have to try to make those cards look like DAI cards, I could be myself, I didn't have to force anything. There are cards I my set that I like more or less than others. This one is my favourite since in my opinion it's the most powerful and most dramatic of them all.
